I use Oestrogel and suggest that if you want to wean yourself off HRT then weaning off gel would be easier than cutting up a patch time and again! With gel, you can reduce the amount to 1 pump daily (as an example) which we would 0.75mgs a day. You could then reduce it to half a pump and use it only every other day, then reduce further. You could try cutting the patches in half and still apply twice a week as usual to keep a steady yet reduced dosage for the next 6-12 months? By applying the patches less often you are giving yourself more hormonal fluctuations.
